Elise is Chief Creative Officer at Limbix, a digital therapeutics company whose mission is to use technology to increase access to mental health treatment for teens and young adults. Elise leads creative strategy, including content and product design, across each of the digital therapeutics in their pipeline. She was responsible for the creation of all written content for Limbix’s flagship product, SparkRx, a digital therapeutic designed as adjunct treatment for symptoms of adolescent depression. SparkRx is a multi-week, cognitive behavioral therapy-based program that teaches adolescents skills like mood tracking, activity scheduling, problem solving, and mindfulness. Elise is a passionate mental health advocate and believes in the power of storytelling as a catalyst for connection.

Outside of her work at Limbix, Elise runs a Field Hockey club program for youth and young adults ages 10-19 that operates out of the Bay Area in California. Her club’s mission is to grow the sport of Field Hockey in California, create more access to high performance training opportunities, and develop resilient and well-rounded athletes on and off the field. Elise is also a proud dog mom to a rescue named Blue. In her free time she enjoys eating Cheetos (not the puffs), playing the guitar (not while eating the Cheetos), and reading fantasy-genre books with strong female characters and magic (sometimes while eating Cheetos, but still not when playing the guitar).

Prior to working at Limbix, Elise was a Project Manager, researcher, and 3D modeler in the Virtual Human Interaction Lab (VHIL) at Stanford University, a social science research lab that studies the psychological and behavioral effects of immersive digital experiences. She managed grant-funded studies exploring embodiment, empathy and perspective-taking in virtual reality, and worked closely with researchers and engineers to create immersive VR experiences. Her own VHIL research focused on using VR to increase empathy towards others, as well as to design immersive, educational narratives to increase pro-environmental and pro-social attitudes and behaviors.

She has co-directed three VR experiences that were official selections at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017 and 2018.

1000 Cut Journey, a VR experience in which the viewer becomes Michael, a Black man, and experiences racism as a young child, adolescent, and young adult.

Coral Compass: Fighting Climate Change in Palau, an underwater 360 film about climate change adaptation in the nation of Palau.

Becoming Homeless: A Human Experience, an educational experience designed to increase empathy for people without homes.
